“My pregnancy counselor is and was someone I absolutely needed when my situation happened and I couldn’t imagine someone sweeter and more understanding. She’s one of the best people I know and she cared for me in a very unique situation”.

I stepped out of my comfort zone the day I emailed Christian family care regarding the option of adoption. I believe I was 6 months pregnant and I knew even if I do not choose adoption at least I can out weigh my options and choose the one that best fits me. I met up with my assigned Counselor Erin and we sat and got coffee speaking about my life and what drove me to this next step. It was an inspirational journey for sure and an emotional one. Not a day went by that I wasn’t alone. She was always there to answer my questions or concerns retaining to my life, pregnancy, option of adoption and how do I know when I find the right family. She continued to tell me she can’t give me an answer or tell me what’s the best choice but encouraged me to choose the best option for me. Erin told me life will get harder but it will become easier and I excepted that into my day to day life and after one year of raising my daughter, I remember Erin encouraging me to be the best version of myself for my daughter. I went back to school and got accepted into nursing school. This has been the biggest impact in my life yet and without the love and the ability that these people provided me with every step of the way I wouldn’t be here and being the best mom my daughter needed.  Thank you ♥️

“I was homeless, scared and did not know what to do.  Hand in Hand helped me get into emergency housing and worked with me to make an adoption plan for my child.  My counselor did not judge me or my lifestyle.  She encouraged me to make the best decision for me and my child.  I was able to choose the family for my child and to have an open adoption.  I struggled for the next couple of years but whenever I reached out to my counselor, she would provide support, encouragement and help me connect to community resources.  I am now working and supporting myself and my newborn child and still have contact with the child I placed for adoption.”
